With License Dashboard Discovery you get the best of both worlds; full hardware and software inventory using either client agents or agent-less technologies. Now one solution can be used to audit all your desktops and servers, across the entire organization.

Client Agent Auditing

The Discovery client agent is an extremely lightweight, easy-to-deploy agent that sits on the desktop or server and collects critical hardware and software information (see Hardware Audit and Software Audit for full information). The agent can be quickly deployed either from the administration console or via the organization's preferred application deployment solution.

Agent-less Auditing

For circumstances where it is not desirable to deploy a target agent to a target device (e.g. data center servers), License Dashboard Discovery supports the option to collect hardware and software audit information remotely. This option still provides a comprehensive MSI software installation scan, but avoids the need for change control or deployment of agents to mission-critical devices.

License Dashboard Discovery provides organizations with the ability to combine agent-based with agent-less audits on the same network – using agents where it is preferable to do so and avoiding deploying agents to particularly sensitive parts of the network.
