License Dashboard Discovery now offers the option to track the usage of important or expensive applications across PCs and Servers on the network. The metering agent provides critical information (viewed in License Manager) that is essential to making informed decisions about when to remove applications from machines in order to re-deploy licenses to other users on the network or to improve the compliance position.

Targeted Application Tracking

The software metering facility in Discovery can be tailored to track or ignore different applications. This minimizes the overhead on both individual machines and the network. It also means that license management staff can quickly access the management reports they need, rather than working through reams of usage information for everything installed on each PC.

Metering metrics collected by Discovery include:

• Last used date
• Last user
• Duration of usage (over last 90 days)
• Aggregated usage data over time

Metering-only Option

For organizations that already have an inventory solution deployed, but are not able to collect metering information, License Dashboard now offers the ability to deploy just the metering capability of License Dashboard Discovery, complementing the incumbent audit data tool with detailed usage information.
